SGS A MOVING EXPERIENCE

Today’s airline passengers expect a flawless travel experience from check in to take-off. Saudi Ground Services is committed to and delivers precisely that at all 28 airports in Saudi Arabia. Our care ranges from face-to-face services with passengers through seamless execution of the hundreds of complex behind-the-scenes operations that keep the aircraft flying to keeping passengers and the possessions together. SGS ensures the highest standards to over 88 million passengers on 690,000 flights a year.

What we do

SGS is engaged in providing ground-handling services to its customers from local and international airlines (regular and charter flights, private aviation and royal flights) at all the 27 airports in the Kingdom. It is a formidable challenge and one we relish. We service 99 airlines and some 700,000 flights a year. In 2017, some 88 million passengers and 90 million baggage’s passed through our care by 10,200 employees.

Our role is to deliver all the required service to prepare airplanes from the moment they land in the airport until they takeoff to the next destination. The services include:

Arrival and departure services in the terminals
Check-in services for passengers
Boarding pass issuance
Baggage handling and sorting
Lost baggage tracking services
Providing sensitively structured services to passengers with special needs.

SGS services extend however, far beyond the passenger interface. They include services usually hidden from public view:

Loading and unloading of postal shipments and baggage to and from the aircraft
Cleaning the aircraft cabin and supplying it with water
Providing technical services that include pushing and towing aircraft into their flight positions
Positioning wheel chocks and safety cones.

This behind the scenes activity requires a large variety of specialized equipment for aircraft servicing The physical equipment list is huge and includes:

Tugs and tractors to move aircraft
Ladders, man-lift and medical lifts
Support equipment such as Ground Power Units, Air Condition Units, Air Starter Units, ground-to-cockpit communication equipment (headset service).
Passenger and crew bus to provide transportation between airport terminal building and aircraft (operated by Saudi AI-Ad for Airport and Air Transport Support Services, a subsidiary of SGS).

Services offered by SGS include aircraft load-control services, flight information, providing travel and tourism services and ticket sales
